What a beautiful but long drive this is to the Ardnamurchen Point where the lighthouse boasts the most westerly point of the Scottish mainland. Soaring 36 metres above the rocks the tower was completed in 1849 using granite from Mull.Although now completely automated the tower remains fully operational and still plays a vital role by ensuring the safety of all ships that navigate through the Minch.
The journey to the point is fantastic as you travel through some really wonderful Scottish countryside.
We are definately going to return to this region as the scenery is wonderful and you get a fantastic view of the Glencoe area from the other side of Loch Linnhe.
