Just an easy hour's drive from the City of Glasgow lies an area of mountains and lochs, the best-known feature of which is Loch Lomond. The village of Arrochar lies a couple of miles west of the loch and has given its name to the range of mountains and hills that surround it. These hills have, over the years, fulfilled the aspirations of many city climbers who could only dream of visits to the classic European peaks. They have become known as the 'Alps'.
Arrochar itself is on the banks of Loch Long and as you can see from the images below is a beautiful place.
