The Forth of Clyde is saturated in beauty, and there are some really nice spots to view from. This is such an imense stretch of water that takes in a lot of other lochs as contributaries. There are many towns along the shores of the Clyde including Dumbarton, Greenock, Gourock, Irvine and Ayr. Shipbuilding was a very important industry on the Clyde until recently when the majority of the yards closed.
There are various Caledonian MacBrayne Ferries that take you accross to the many islands including Bute, Cumbrae, Arran and also to Dunoon which is on the mainland. The Clyde has so much to offer both in scenery and sports. Apart from watersports there are some great golf courses including Turnberry, Troon and Prestwick just to mention a few.
